Discussion of Jail Options Presented by Mayor Kelli, Brian Heinrich, and Peter Ruffatto INFORMATION ONLY 21246 2. Low-Barrier Shelter Update Presented by Rick Sepler INFORMATION ONLY 21247 3. Overview of the Draft 2016 Bellingham Comprehensive Plan Presented by Rick Sepler and Lisa Pool INFORMATION ONLY 21151 4. Sustainable Services: Process Update Presented by Rick Sepler INFORMATION ONLY 1 21221 5. Future Parks Funding Dan Hammill / Terry Bornemann moved to recommend having staff bring back a resolution with the changes contained in the amended version and to have the Greenways IV placed on the November ballot MOTION CARRIED 7-0. 6. Approval of City Council Committee and/or Special Meeting Minutes Gene Knutson / Roxanne Murphy moved approval of the May 2 minutes as submitted. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. 7. Old/New Business 1. Pinky Vargas asked Peter Ruffatto to explain the procedure for Council voting on a proposed ballot issue. To avoid partisan politics, the Council should host a public hearing. Presenting pro and con viewpoints is optional. 2. Roxanne Murphy / Gene Knutson moved to recommend asking staff to schedule a public hearing regarding initiative 1433 for June 20 MOTION CARRIED 7-0. 3. April Barker thanked Chief Cook and his staff for organizing a Peace Officer Memorial Vigil. Adjournment 2
