Call to Order Roll Call Present: Council President Roxanne Murphy, At Large Council Member April Barker, First Ward Council Member Dan Hammill, Third Ward Council Member Pinky Vargas, Fourth Ward Council Member Terry Bornemann, Fifth Ward Council Member Michael Lilliquist, Sixth Ward Excused: Council Member Gene Knutson, Second Ward Council Standing Committee Meetings: Open to the public to attend. Note: there is generally no public comment period for Committee sessions. Standing Committee Members receive reports and information, ask questions and, when appropriate, vote on a recommended action for consideration by the full Council at the Regular Meeting. The notice of Committee Meetings identified below also serves as notice of Special Meetings of the City Council at the times identified as Council Members who are not members of the committee routinely attend and participate in the Committee Meetings. Committee Chairs give a report of the Committee Meeting at the Regular Meeting in the evening prior to deliberation and formal vote in the order shown below: Committee Of The Whole Roxanne Murphy, Chair April Barker; Gene Knutson; Daniel Hammill; Pinky Vargas; Terry Bornemann; Michael Lilliquist 21998 1. 2018 Fireworks Enforcement Update p. 3 Flo Simon, Deputy Chief, gave a recap on calls for service for the Independence Day holiday. Bid Award for the Civic Stadium North Grandstand Reroof - Bid No. p. 4 27B-2018 Roxanne Murphy / Gene Knutson moved to recommend approval of the bid award for the Civic Stadium North Grandstand Reroof. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. 21984 3. Elected Officials Salary Options p. 9 Information Only Discussion on elected salary options. Is the salary directly connected to the salaries of elected officials? If so, should be paid at least 95% of the District Court judges' salary? Roxanne Murphy summarrized different scenarios for higher pay for the judge, possibly change the charter, and the link between E- Team salaries being underpaid and Council Members' salaries. Information only. 4. Approval of City Council Committee and/or Special Meeting Minutes April Barker / Gene Knutson moved to approve Committee Meeting minutes of June 18, 2018. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. 5. Old/New Business April Barker discussed the effectiveness of the rental registration program. Roxanne Murphy reported that she attended the Birchwood International Market. April Barker added that the strategies of the City and the partnership with programs like the Birchwood International Market help with the loss of grocery store options.
