Call to Order Roll Call Present: Committee Chair Gene Knutson, Second Ward Committee Member Terry Bornemann, Fifth Ward Committee Member Michael Lilliquist, Sixth Ward Council Standing Committee Meeting Open to the public to attend. Note: there is generally no public comment period for Committee sessions. Standing Committee Members receive reports and information, ask questions and, when appropriate, vote on a recommended action for consideration by the full Council at the Regular Meeting. The notice of Committee Meetings identified below also serves as notice of Special Meetings of the City Council at the times identified as Council Members who are not members of the committee routinely attend and participate in the Committee Meetings. Noise Variance Request from WSDOT for SR-542 Paving Project p. 4 Terry Bornemann moved to recommend approval of the noise variance MOTION CARRIED 3-0. 21868 3. Report from the February 5, 2018 Lake Whatcom Policy Group p. 13 Meeting Presented by Gene Knutson INFORMATION ONLY . New Business Gene Knutson was approached by Seth Fleetwood, who was speaking on behalf of the Citizen's Climate Lobby, asking for the Council's support for a carbon fee. Councilmember Knutson asked the committee if they approve of Seth making a brief presentation to the committee at its next meeting on the 26th. The committee members approved.
