Call to Order Council President Pro Tem Bornemann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Announcements & Upcoming Meetings Bellingham City Council meets all requirements of the State of Washington Open Public Meetings Act. Pledge of Allegiance Led by Council President Pro Tem Bornemann. Lev officiated at the swearing in of Daniel C. Hammill, City Council Member, Ward 3. Committee Of The Whole 20689 1. 2015 City Council Reorganization Nomination/Election of Officers for 2015 Terry Bornemann / Roxanne Murphy moved to approve Gene Knutson as Council President. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. COUNCIL PRESIDENT: GENE KNUTSON Council President Bornemann Pro Tem turned the gavel over to Council President Knutson, who chaired the remainder of the meeting. Gene Knutson / Terry Bornemann moved to approve Pinky Vargas as Council President Pro Tempore. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. COUNCIL PRESIDENT PRO TEMPORE: PINKY VARGAS Gene Knutson / Pinky Vargas moved to approve Roxanne Murphy as Mayor Pro Tempore. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. Approval of Minutes Terry Bornemann / Roxanne Murphy moved approval of the minutes of the December 8, 2014 and December 15, 2014 Regular Meetings and the minutes of the December 17, 2014 Special Meeting. MOTION CARRIED 6-0-1, Dan Hammill abstained. 3. Old/New Business City of Bellingham Regular City Council Meeting Page 5 of 6 1/5//2015 Council Member Hammill expressed his appreciation for the Council's support. Council Member Bornemann noted that the Martin Luther King Celebration will be held at noon, January 19, 2015 at City Hall. Live Broadcast Information: The Bellingham City Council Committee Meetings are broadcast live on BTV10 at the times listed on the Agenda. Committee session start times between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM are estimated. A specific Committee may start later than the time published but will not begin earlier than its published time. The meetings are also streamed live on the internet as they occur and are available at http://www.cob.org/services/education/btv10/live-stream.aspx. BTV10 programming is available 24/7 to anyone with a computer and high-speed internet access. On-line viewers will see exactly what Comcast cable customers would see on Channel 10, without the need for cable television service. The Bellingham Public Library also has DVD’s available for checkout. Video and audio files are available on the Internet at http://www.cob.org within 5 business days following each meeting.
