VILLAGE OF BIRON 451 KAHOUN ROAD, WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI 54494 PUBLIC WORKS, SANITATION & WASTEWATER COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 18th, 2025 9:00 A.M. Members Present: Tammy Steward, Chairperson; Dan Muleski and Mike Guillemot Committee Members Others Present: Kayla Lumaye, Public Works Director; Peggy Doughty, Utility Clerk 1. Chairperson Tammy Steward called the meeting to order at 9:21 a.m. 2. Discussion and possible action on possible additions to the GIS system – Kayla discussed a quote for a Trimble GPS receiver through MSA. The device will allow Kayla and the crew to accurately map our infrastructure on the GIS system. The water committee approved this purchase, so no action was taken. 3. Discussion and possible action on increasing wastewater rates – The committee reviewed rates from neighboring committees. Motion Steward, second Muleski to increase the wastewater rates from $9.42 per thousand gallons to $10 per thousand gallons and the monthly minimum from $20 to $22. Motion carried. 4. Superintendent’s report – Kayla discussed an email she had received from Mark Anderson with CWPCo. Mark stated there are two utility poles that need to be moved during the CTH U reconstruction and he wanted the Village’s approval. CWPCo does not intend on reinstalling the poles until grading is completed. During that time there will be no light poles at those intersections. The road will not be in use during the active construction so there will be very little impact. Kayla discussed getting proposals for preventative maintenance inspections on the lift stations. Tammy suggests contacting Crane Engineering for a proposal. Kayla discussed the MSA contract that was approved at the last board meeting. The contract will no longer be in effect. The services that were listed as exclusions were specifically why we contracted them for. Jon and Kayla will be looking for other companies to perform these services . 5. Set next meeting date and time - Next meeting will be held on April 3rd at 3:00 PM.
