VILLAGE OF BIRON 451 KAHOUN ROAD, WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI 54494 PUBLIC WORKS, SANITATION & WASTEWATER COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 2nd, 2026 10:00 A.M. Members Present: Tammy Steward, Chairperson (present by phone); Tm McKellips and Mike Guillemot, Committee Members Others Present: Kayla Lumaye, Public Works Director; Samanatha Daugherty, Village Clerk 1. Chairperson Tammy Steward called the meeting to order at 9:59 a.m. 2. Discuss updates on Shore Acres Drive storm sewer rehabilitation Kayla provided a summary from the videos, pictures and reports provided by Great Lakes TV Seal. Several sections of the sewer line contained heavy grit buildup, offset joints, and root intrusion, which prevented complete televising of the pipes The lines will need to be cleaned and then televised again so that we can verify where the sump pump discharge from 291 Shore Acres is connected and determine whether there are any connections to 271 Shore Acres 3. Discussion and possible action on resolution 26-07 approving the Compliance Maintenance Annual Report Kayla presented the 2025 CMAR report for the committee to review. The only new section included in the report was the Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) from the force main break from February 2025. Motion McKellips, second Guillemot to adopt resolution 26-07 approving the 2025 CMAR Report. Motion carried. 4. Discussion on CTH U trail maintenance equipment Kayla presented two proposals to the committee regarding future trail maintenance. The committee recommended contacting Wood County and the Town of Grand Rapids to obtain pricing for ditch mowing services, as this may eliminate the need to purchase equipment with that capability.to use. The committee also requested that Kayla research additional attachments that could be utilized with the John Deere 3039R to help justify the purchase of the equipment and maximize its use for any Village operations. 5. Superintendent’s report Kayla reported that she signed a contract with Zblewski Bros. for a total of $3,000 to grind and haul away the brush pile from the storm cleanup. Kayla also reported that Wood County plans to pulverize 80th Street North during the week of July 13th. Additionally, Kayla reported that reconstruction of CTH U is expected to begin soon. The contractor will have 105 working days to complete the project. 6. Referrals for next meeting CTH U trail maintenance and equipment necessary for maintenance and updates on Shore Acres Drive storm sewer project. 7. Set next meeting date and time - Next meeting is set for July 9th at 10:00 AM.
