Hiring Committee Meeting

A meeting of the Hiring Committee was held at City Hall in the City of Black River Falls on June 5, 2025 at 5:00pm. In attendance were Mayor Jay Eddy, Alderperson Justin Dougherty, Alderperson Gary Ammann, Alderperson Desiree Gearing-Lancaster, Rural Fire Board Chairperson Leonard Olson, Rural Fire Board Vice-Chairperson Brian Dolesy, BRF Fire Department 1st Assistant Chief Darren Vase, and City Administrator Brad Chown. Mayor Eddy presided. 1) The meeting was called to order by Mayor Eddy at 5:01pm. 2) It was moved by Justin Dougherty, seconded by Desiree Gearing-Lancaster to adjourn in to closed session for the purpose of considering employment of a Fire Chief for the Black River Falls Fire Department over which the governmental body has jurisdiction as authorized under Section 19.385(1)(c) of the Wisconsin Statutes. Motion carried at 5:02pm. 3) It was moved by Gary Ammann, seconded by Desiree Gearing-Lancaster to reconvene in to open session to take or announce action, if any and if appropriate. Motion carried at 6:00pm. 4) It was moved by Brad Chown, seconded by Justin Dougherty to recommend extending an offer of employment for Fire Chief as discussed in closed session. Motion carried. 5) It was moved by Desiree Gearing-Lancaster, seconded by Justin Dougherty to adjourn. Motion carried at 6:02pm. A. Brad Chown City Administrator
