Joint Review Board Meeting

The Industrial Park Commission met at City Hall on January 29, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. Commissioners Jay Eddy, Jeff Amo, Bill Laurent, Don Matthews, Bob Becker, Julie Murray, Kevin Babcock, and Darcy Funmaker were present. Others in attendance: Brad Chown, City Administrator. Commissioners Eric Chrisinger and Mike Rave were excused. Mayor Jay Eddy presided. 1. Mayor Jay Eddy called the meeting to order at 1:02 pm. 2. The City Administrator distributed hard copies of Counter Offer 1 by Seller and presented an overview of the Offer to Purchase Vacant Land (OTP) received from Jackson Electric for 6.12 acres in the Industrial Park. 3. Jackson Electric CEO Kevin Babcock explained the need for a high voltage substation to serve future developments in the Industrial Park. The new substation would be tied in with the existing substation near Old Vaudreuil Road creating a loop that would allow for back feeding in the event of an outage. Mr. Babcock explained the offer is contingent on soil testing and other studies which Jackson Electric would contract for and pay for. 4. There was discussion on who should be responsible for the cost of the survey to create a new Certified Survey Map. The OTP puts this cost on the Seller and the Counter Offer by Seller puts this on the Buyer. 5. It was moved by Commissioner Eddy, seconded by Commissioner Laurent to recommend the Common Council accept the offer from Jackson Electric Cooperative to purchase 6.12 acres of vacant land in the Industrial Park and all provisions outlined in Counter Offer 1 by Seller except the Seller shall be responsible for all costs related to the required survey. Motion carried (7-0-1) with Commissioner Babcock abstaining. 6. It was moved by Commissioner Amo, seconded by Commissioner Becker to adjourn. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 1:33 PM. A.
