Committee Member Mitchell Peil, made a motion to approve the minutes, a second from Committee Member Dena Duhon, and a unanimous vote, the Minutes for March 15, 2017, were approved as submitted. AGENDA ITEM 2 The public hearing for Agenda Items 2, 3, and 4 was opened at 6:01 p.m. PUBLIC HEARING 2017-2022 Matt Wright, Senior Planner, stated that before the Committee is a question CONSOLIDATED PLAN / of creating the 2017-2022 Consolidated Plan and updating the 5-year goals. 5-YEAR GOALS Members of the committee agreed that the previous goals are still applicable and should remain the same. AGENDA ITEM 3 Matt Wright stated that before the Committee is an Annual Action Plan for PUBLIC HEARING the program year beginning October 2017. Mr. Wright requested suggestions 2017-2018 ANNUAL for new activities and projects to explore as well as suggestions for activities ACTION PLAN / and projects to continue. PROJECTS & ACTIVITES CDBG Minutes – 05.04.2017 Page 1 of 2 hs  Committee members discussed the need for funds to go toward city parks considering the new sales tax which goes toward park funding, and whether Annual Action Plan funds could be used to create new parks. Funds can be used for park improvements in designated low-moderate income areas. Committee members discussed the First-Time Homebuyer and Minor Home Repair programs. AGENDA ITEM 4 Matt Wright stated that before the Committee is a review of the Citizen PUBLIC HEARING Participation Plan. Mr. Wright stated that no major changes to the plan are 2017-2022 CITIZEN being proposed, but the plan has been reformatted to make it easier to follow PARTICIPATION PLAN / and understand the process. POLICIES & PROCEDURES HEARING CLOSED With no further discussion, Chairman Cindy Miller closed the public hearing at 6:30 p.m. OTHER BUSINESS The next CDBG Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 23, 2017, which will be held in the East Conference Room of City Hall located at 903 W Main Street at 6:00 p.m. The final public hearing before the draft plans are sent to the public will be held the week of June 12th.
