Minutes of the Parks Sales Tax Committee Meeting April 26, 2018 In Attendance were Brandon Jackley, Dena Duhon, Justin Stuart, Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation and Dennis Dovel, Director of Parks and Recreation. Dena Duhon called the meeting to order. No Visitors Minutes – No Minutes were approved. Adams Pointe Golf Club update was provided by Director Dovel. The bunker project is wrapping up and will be complete at weeks end. All that is remaining is to seed some of the temporary haul roads. The Clubhouse roof replacement project has been bid again. Staff is waiting to receive the bids. Tennis Court Update for Blue Springs Park and Pink Hill Park – Director Dovel stated the concrete surface has been poured, fence installed and now the remaining work is waiting for the concrete to cure before the courts can be coated. Playground Update – Director Dovel stated the Rotary Park Playground has been completed and Ward Park has begun construction. However, Ward Park will slow down as the contractor is still waiting to receive the playground components. It is anticipated the playground will complete in June. Old Mill Park Playground – Director Dovel provide the committee with several themes to consider to provided contractors to design too for Old Mill Park. Commissioner Duhon asked if we could provide images of each. Commissioner Jackley stated the Old West theme did not live up to vision he had and Commissioner Duhon concurred. It was decided to provide three themes for vendors to design to: Tree of Life/Caribbean Pirate/Treasure Island Open Theme – they can design to whatever they would like. The schedule for the Playground/Splash Pad is designs submitted in June, finalist selected in July and contract award in September. Construction would begin in the fall with an anticipated opening date of Memorial weekend 2019 Commissioner Jackley made a motion to adjourn and Commissioner Duhon second. Page 2
