Minutes of a Regular Public Art Commission Meeting
November 8, 2023
A regular meeting of the Blue Springs Public Art Commission was held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at
1:00pm at the Fieldhouse. The Chairman called the meeting to order.

Kamera Meaney- Absent Community member: Larry Randall

A motion was made by Pam and seconded by Kathy to accept the Minutes of the October meeting as presented; it
passed unanimously.
Financial Report. The financial report was available for review. There were no questions.
“Seasons” 14th Temporary Public Art Exhibit
-After introductions of the Jurors and Public Art Commissioners. Ramon gave a brief update on the stats for
artists applying for the exhibit and the process that the Selection Panel will follow in determining the final four
artists and the alternate artist.
-Ramon gave a visual review of the top 5 finalists artworks that had been submitted to CAFÉ. A decision was
made on which artwork to consider from artist Tim Adams. It was decided that we would prefer the piece titled
“Everlasting”.
-Phone Calls were made to each finalist who provided additional information about their art and what would be
required to install.
-After discussion of the artworks, the four finalists and alternat artist were determined by voice vote. They are:
Tim Adams- Everlasting; Deveren Farley- Family Tree; Hilde DeBruyne- Wings; Jonathan Chandler- First Light;
The alternate artist is Chris Plaisted.
-Justin will contact and arrange for all artists to be notified of PAC decisions. He will arrange for Parks staff to
create and place bases appropriate for each artwork for the exhibit.
-Justin will be in contact with artists to arrange for installation at the site determined by PAC and to learn of any
equipment needed for installation.
-PAC thanked the Selection Panel for their time and will look forward to seeing everyone at the Dedication of the
Exhibit.
