Bluffdale City Youth Council Meeting February 28, 2018 Minutes Welcome given by Jacie Pledge of Allegiance- given by Brooklyn Moore Historian: No decision made on this until more of council is here Secretary/Recorder: Maybe Abbi Roller? Decision with more people there. Goals of Youth Council- to be run like the regular city council, but as the youth. -run and led by the youth. -guidelines from charter (look at the charter) Activities we want to accomplish as a youth council 1. Bluffdale Town Days –food selling concessions, dance, old west days, youth council, be in the parade? 2. Daddy Daughter Dance- where:city hall? Community room or basement Advertising: no march advertising, later in the year maybe? Ideal would be 3 months advertising (Ms Bluffdale May 8th) 3. Youth dance for town days: youth night 4. Old West days service for elderly meal (participate in it) *****The more we advertise our Youth Council, the bigger we can get our council and then we can involve more people (youth) Calendaring How to run the youth council (terms of service) *vision Youth City Council Ordinance Next Meetings :March 7th, March 21st 1st & 3rd week of month @ 5pm Valentines Dance • Pros- set up was done well • Cons- Advertising needs to be done sooner Newsletter needs to be done better (over seen)
