A. Approve the February 20, 2024 regular meeting minutes as presented
B. Approve the recommendation from the Women’s Resource Center to proclaim the month of April 2024
as Sexual Assault Awareness Month in the City of Boyne City.
C. Approve to schedule a third budget work session for Wednesday, March 20, 2024 starting at 8 a.m. in
the City Hall Parkview Room

A. Community Garden Relocation Recommendation
Consider the recommendation from the Airport Advisory Board to approve the location of a Community
Garden on city owned property located adjacent to the West of the Airport.
B. Tree Advisory Group Sub-Committee Recommendation
Consider the recommendation from the Parks and Recreation Commission to approve the creation of a
Tree Advisory Group sub-committee to the Parks and Recreation Commission.
C. MDOT Street Improvement Contract
Consider the recommendation from Director of Public Works and Utilities Doug Varney to approve the
proposed resolution and contract 24-5076 with the Michigan Department of Transportation and
authorize the City Manager and City Clerk/Treasurer to execute the necessary documents.
D. Solid Waste Collection & Disposal Services Contract Extension Recommendation
Consider the recommendation from Director of Public Works and Utilities Doug Varney to approve the
one-year extension to the contract with American Waste for the 2025/2025 Solid Waste Collection &
Disposal Services in an amount not-to-exceed $9,925 for containerized refuse collection and estimated
$72,000 for the rubbish collection programs depending on volume and to authorize the City Manager to
execute the necessary documents.
E. Repair to Metal Hand Rail at Old City Park
Consider the recommendation from Director of Public Works and Utilities Doug Varney to approve a
purchase order contract with Tip of the Mitt Welding and Fabrication of Boyne City to repair the hand
railing for $3,300 utilizing available funds in Parks Capital Outlay and authorize the City Manager to
execute the necessary documents.
F. Mission Square Roth 457
Consider the recommendation from City Clerk/Treasurer Jessica Puroll to approve the addition of the
Roth 457 option with Mission Square and authorize the City Manager or City Clerk/Treasurer to execute
the necessary documents.
G. FYE 2025 Budget Presentation
Presentation of proposed FYE 2025 City Budget by City Manager Michael Cain
H. Closed Session Request
Consider the request from City Manager Michael Cain to go into closed session for the purpose of
attorney client privilege discussion pursuant to Section 8(h) of the Open Meetings Act (MCL
15.268(1)(h)) to discuss material protected by the attorney client privilege, which is exempt from
disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act (MCL 15.243(1)(g)).

• The City Commission special housing meeting is scheduled for Friday, March 15th at 5:30 p.m.

• The third City Commission budget work session is proposed for Wednesday, March 20th at 8:00 a.m.
• The next regular City Commission meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26th at 12:00 p.m.
