Chairman Powers was in the Chair. Clerk of the Council, Susan Cimino conducted the roll call. Present: Sean Powers, Chairman Charles Kokoros, Member Timothy Carey, Member David Ringius, Jr, Vice- Chairman Also Present: Joseph Reynolds, Chief of Staff Carl Johnson, Attorney There was a moment of silence for all those serving in our armed services, past and present, and the meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance to the flag. Approval of Minutes • July 9, 2018 Motion: by Councilor Kokoros to approve minutes of July 9, 2018 Second: by Councilor Ringius Vote: For (4 - Carey, Kokoros, Powers, Ringius), Against (0), Absent (0), Abstain (0) New Business • 18 041 Rezone: Adams Street Enterprises, LLC or take up any action relative thereto Carl Johnson, Attorney stated the petition submitted by Adams Street Enterprises LLC is to change the zoning classification from General Business District to Commercial District for 16.158 acres of land that is the same property rezoned from Industrial District (now called Commercial District) and one lot from Residence B to General Business District by Article 74 of the April 2, 1974 Annual Town Meeting. July 9, 2018 Committee on Ordinance & Rules 1 of 2  Planning Board recommends favorable action. Public hearing was held on August 14, 2018. Councilor Kokoros filed a disclosure form with the Town Clerk stating he is a friend of Georg Lang. MOTION read by Council Kokoros for favorable recommendation to the full Council: That the Town Council vote, at the request of the property owner, Adams Street Enterprises, LLC, to amend the Zoning Map of the Town of Braintree, by rezoning from General Business District to Commercial District a tract of land located on the southerly side of Adams Street and bounded on the west by Arnold Street and on the south by the Mass Bay Transportation Authority right-of-way. The parcels to be rezoned are shown on a plan entitled, “PLAN OF COMPILATION OF LAND”, prepared by Hoyt Land Surveying, dated April 25, 2018, as most recently revised and stamped on August 28, 2018, on file with the Town Clerk. The area to be rezoned includes the entirety of Assessors Parcels 2008- 0-3B, 2008-0-4, 2008-0-4A, 2008-0-6, 3014-0-1D, 3014-0-1C, and 3013-0-58, comprising a total area of approximately 16.158 acres. The rezoning request has been recommended favorably by the Planning Board, as detailed in its report to the Town Council dated August 15, 2018.
