General Public Comments
No public comments.
Agenda Items
Town Hall Covid 19 Protocols (Staff & Visitors)
- Mandatory Masks in town hall
- Require mandatory testing for staff not vaccinated
- Maximum of 3 visitors inside of the building
- Thorough cleaning of town hall and outside bathrooms
UPDATES:
- ARP Funding approval
- Police Department awarded $4,983 Community Policing Grant & $12,750
Police Recruit & Retention Grant
- Staff will attend Defensive Driving Training on Wednesday, September 1,
2021. Town offices will be closed.
Public Works
- Contract for Bates Trash reviewed. Pending 2 items to be confirmed to be added to
the contract. Will be reviewed by legal and Bates. Town is currently on a month to
month until contract is signed.
RFP for Sidewalks repair reviewed.
- Repairs will be prioritized. Estimated timeline will be around 6 months.
- Expected start of bids September 3, 2021

2 quotes for Lamp repairs LEDs & Tree Trimming in Bartlett Park reviewed.
- One from Northeast Electric and one from Adirondack. Treasurer asked if there may
be grants available to fund this project.
Quotes for removal of two dead (2) trees in Bartlett Park reviewed.
- Review of other trees needs to be done to see if the tree fungus has spread.
- Proceed with the tree trimming and removal of the two dead trees by Adirondack.
Installation of a gate for paper ally (N Brentwood split cost) Parallel to Volta Ave from
Route 1 to 40th Place
- North Brentwood TA is seeking a grant to convert alley into green walkable
space. Brentwood public works will clear the area.
Dead tree at 4510 37th Street, MD 20722
- Council suggests that the resident should be responsible for conducting a
survey. TA will follow up with the resident.
Paper ally between 3815 & 3802 Perry St
- Ally is not owned by the town.
- Residents will be notified via letter.
- CM Monroe would like to know if the town can assist the residents contact the
County Council to assist
Paper Ally Clean Up (40th Place & Route 1), Saturday, September 4, 2021
- Teaming up with Prince George’s County to clean ally
- Need volunteers to assist with the clean up
Proposal from LA Perez
- Monthly fee increased by $1000 for legislative services
- TA recommended to extend contract for 6 months to then determine
- Treasurer would like contract more detailed and inclusion of identifying
grants which may offer an administrative fee to offset the costs.
- Council will review to ensure that efforts are not duplicated for projects that
can be funded by ARP

Quality Control person for the new Town Center Project
- How many hours will be needed?
- What is the scope of work? How often will they be asked to inspect?
- Estimated cost is $50,000 - $60,000 depending on level of expertise.
- Need to get bids, possibly bring the QC as a contractor or temporary position.
- Construction will begin the week of August 16, 2021.
- CM Monroe says that having them focus on tasks as the project moves along.
Discuss Newsletter Translation Proposal
- Would town be required to offer different languages services to residents per
Title 6 due to receiving ARP funds
- Will continue to research what the need is for the town.
Introduction of Resolution 2021-13-Town Hall Community Garden Dedication
- CM Vechery-Goff along with the Tree committee decided to dedicate the
garden to Chief Robert Althoff for his long career in public safety.
Emergency Rental Assistance Program Workshop at Town Hall
- Vice Mayor will assist residents in filling out applications
- Friday, September 3, 2021, timed appointments
Marcus Monroe as Point Of Contact While Mayor & Vice Mayor are away the week of August
16, 2021- August 20, 2021
- VM Leggin nominated Council Member Monroe will be available to should
anything arise where the mayor may be needed.
