Minutes of the Bristol Tennessee City Council Work Session March 25r 2014 The Bristol Tennessee City Council work session was called to order by Mayor Dolan on Tuesday, March 25,2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Ewell L. Easley Annex Building. The meeting was conducted as a joint work session of the City Council and the Board of Education. Members of City Council present included Mayor Michelle Dolan, Vice MayorLeaPowers, Councilwoman Margaret Feierabend, Councilman Chad Keen (via conference call), and Councilman Jack Young. Members of the Board of Education present included Chairman David Welch, Board Member Jim Butcher, Board Member Jill Harison, and Board Member Nelson Pyle. City staff members present included City Manager Bill Sorah, City Attorney Jack Hyder, City Recorder Tara Musick, Community Relations Director Terrie Talbert, and Information Technology Manager Greg Cross. Board of Education staff present included Director of Schools Dr. Gary Lilly, Business and Finance Supervisor Becky Adams, and Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor Ed Depew. The agenda for the meeting included the following item of discussion with no formal action taken: Presentation of the 2006 Educational Facilities Master Plan Mr. Don Shell, of Community Tectonics Architects, presented the facility improvement recommendations that were developed as part of the 2006 Educational Facilities Master Plan. In addition, Mr. Shell updated the two governing bodies on progress that had been made since the completion of the master plan. Considerable discussion ensued regarding potential funding sources for a new middle school and a possible timeframe for construction.
