Ertl, A.I.C.P., Director 2000 North Calhoun Road Brookfield, Wisconsin 53005-5095 262-796-6695 NOTICE OF NEIGHBORHOOD INFORMATION MEETING Brookfield Road and Capitol Drive Neighborhood Plan As a neighbor1 of the Brookfield Road and Capitol Drive Neighborhood, you are hereby invited by the City of Brookfield to a Neighborhood Information Meeting to be held on: Wednesday, January 17, 2024 - 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Common Council Chambers – City Hall 2000 N. Calhoun Road - Brookfield, WI The City of Brookfield Community Development Department is requesting approval to: a. Amend the 2050 Comprehensive Plan through adoption of the Brookfield Road and Capitol Drive Neighborhood Plan Update with Figures 6, 10, and 12 amended accordingly. See Exhibit A – pg. 3. b. Amend the future land use designation of an unaddressed 1.213-acre property (Tax Key BR C1042993) located on the south side of Capitol Drive, east of Brookfield Road, as depicted on Map 3 of the 2050 Comprehensive Plan from “Employment Focused – Lower Density” to “Housing Focused – Medium Density” and to amend the zoning of said property from “Office” to “M-2 Residence District”. See Exhibit B – pg. 3. c. Amend the future land use designation of properties located in the southwest corner of the Brookfield Road and Capitol Drive intersection (Tax Keys BR C1037999012, BR C1037999013, BR C1037999014, and BR C1037999015), as depicted on Map 3 of the 2050 Comprehensive Plan from “Mixed Use – Lower Density” to “Mixed Use – Higher Density” to allow for a future amendment to Planned District Development (PDD #2) to permit residential development within this area. See Exhibit C – pg. 4. The meeting is an open house. No presentation will be made. Community Development Department staff will answer questions related to maps, exhibits, and proposed Future Land Use and Zoning Map amendments, and will collect written comments to accompany the presentation of the plan to the City’s Plan Commission and Common Council. A public hearing regarding this matter is anticipated for March 2024. A separate public hearing notice will be mailed. It is possible that members of and possibly a quorum of members of governmental bodies of the municipality may be in attendance at the above-stated meeting to gather information; no action will be taken by any governmental body at the above-stated meeting.
