NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING OF THE
CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU ADVISORY BOARD
OF THE CITY OF BROWNSVILLE
Pursuant to Chapter 551, Title 5 of the Texas Government Code, the Texas Opening Meetings Act,
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a meeting of the Brownsville Convention and Visitors Bureau
(BCVB) Advisory Board of the City of Brownsville, will be conducted on Tuesday, May 14th, 2024
at 12:00 p.m., at the Brownsville Convention and Visitors Bureau located on 1312 E Adams St.
Brownsville Texas, 78520.

Members of the public who submitted a “Public Comment Form” will be permitted to offer public
comments as provided by the agenda and as permitted by the presiding officer during the meeting.
A recording of the meeting will be made and will be available to the public in accordance with the
Open Meetings Act.
At the said meeting, the following items will be considered:
1. Call to Order
a) Roll Call
2. Public Comments
a. The “Public Comment Form” is designated for speakers to recognize and address the
Brownsville Convention and Visitors Bureau Advisory Board, as a whole – do not direct your
comments to any individual members of the committee.
b. Kindly submit a “Public Comment Form” an hour before the start of the scheduled meeting time
with the City Secretary or online. Forms are not reserved for anyone, nor may time be deferred to
anyone. PowerPoint presentations may not be accommodated.
c. The public comment period is a total of 9 minutes.
d. There is a three (3) ‐minute time limit per speaker.
e. For the record, the speaker must identify by name before speaking.
3. Discussion, Consideration and Action to approve minutes for meeting on April 9th, 2024.
4. Presentation on Brownsville Convention & Visitors Bureau Updates (Operations, Events,
Marketing, Business, and Social Media).
5. Discussion on Space Fest 2024.
6. Discussion on Brownsville’s Scale House Visitor Center Re-opening.
7. Discussion on Brownsville Convention and Visitors Bureau By-laws Update as requested by
City Commission.
8. Adjournment.
