Budget / Capital Planning • Experience with Budget as ACT in Creighton • Created first-ever Capital Improvement Plan and brought online new Finance software (which greatly improved budgeting) for City of Creighton • Department Budget Development and Oversight at City of Hastings • Budgets for Committees served (i.e., KWPB, KCB) • Oversaw Maintenance and Communications Flight budgets, as well as all department necessary supplies while working at CMAFS on the A-76 Contract. • Responsible for QA oversight of budget for two Prime ID/IQ-type Government Defense and 21 smaller Defense contracts, entailing an approximate 230-person task force with a ceiling value of over $46 Million. Agenda, Ordinances/Resolutions • Experience with agenda, drafting ordinances/resolutions, meeting minutes and public notices for all City Council meetings and many of the other commission and board meetings. • Experience with agenda, meeting minutes and public notices for all PC, BOA, BOA meetings (Hastings and Woodland Park) “A budget is more than just a series of numbers on a page; it is an embodiment of our values.” – Barack Obama  JOB APPROACH Upon Start Date: • Meet with Mayor & Trustees to understand their hot topics /goals • Shadow Departments: discuss department goals, needs & status with each Department Head • Start attending meetings, groups & organizational • Immerse into study of all city codes, personnel manuals, policy and guidance unique to Buena Vista • Finalize/study budget and inclusive goals, expenses and revenues • Work priorities (projects) as previously time-lined or as need arises; reviewing and researching status on each. 3-6 Months: • Start pushing along important project priorities of City (i.e., water infrastructure improvements, water rights acquisition, water and land use policy updates, affordable housing and childcare development, US Highway 24 intersection improvements, construction of the new Police Station, and ongoing implementation of trail, park, and community facility improvements). • Work to review and research medium to longer-term planning efforts (i.e., municipal facility planning, emergency response planning, continuing to implement information technology improvements, wildfire mitigation around source water protection areas, attention to flood plain management, water resource development, ongoing streetscape development, and developing/maintaining infrastructure are significant concerns.) 6-12 Months: • Start pushing progress on medium to longer-term planning efforts.  GOALS • Most personal goals will start to be formed with my integration into organization. However, my biggest goal: Make Buena Vista, Colorado the best it can be, with careful consideration to what the community wants it to be, as seen in the Comprehensive Plan and all future engagement opportunities! Leverage all of the many fantastic amenities and work to strengthen any areas of weakness. I am looking forward to fulfilling a bucket list item. I have always said that I would end my career back in Colorado in City management. Buena Vista has been at the top of that list! Buena Vista has been a special place to me for many years; it’s a place I have visited annually on special occasions to celebrate.
