Special BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes A Special Board of Control meeting was held Thursday, October 23, 2020 at 9:30 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Bernabei called the meeting to order at 9:30 AM. Director of Public Service John Highman was present. Safety Andrea Perry was excused. Board Secretary substitute, Andy Roth was also present. There were no visitors present. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 10/23/2020 - Minutes 1. Ordinance 159/2020 Enter into contract with Larkin Greenewood Ford in the amount of $159,188.00 for the purchase of four (4) Ford Explorer AWD Police Utility Interceptors for the Police Department. This will bring the Police Dept. closer to the goal of having one officer per vehicle and will enable the City to reach this goal in 2021. Discussion: Mayor Bernabei asked about the funding source for this purchase. Director Highman indicated the purchase qualifies for CARES funding as per program guidelines. Director Highman also explained other purchases of equipment and accessories intended for these vehicles to outfit them in a similar manner as the rest of the Police Fleet. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 2 yeas 0 nays Motion carried 2. Ordinance 159/2020 Enter into contract with Motorola Solutions, Inc. in the amount of $36,880.00 for the purchase of Watch Guard In-Car Camera Systems for the Police Department. Discussion: Director Highman stated that this equipment will be installed in the Police interceptors. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 2 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. Mayor Bernabei made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Director Perry seconded. Vote: 2 yeas 0 nays Meeting adjourned: 9:35 AM
