BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes A Board of Control meeting was held Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 9:00 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Bernabei called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. Director of Public Service John Highman and Director of Public Safety Andrea Perry were present. Board Secretary Katie Wise was also present. There were no visitors present. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 12/1/2020 - Minutes 1. Ordinance 2/2020 Enter into a one (1) year contract with the Schauer Group, Inc. in the amount of $349,000.00 for property insurance for City owned buildings. Discussion: Per Director Highman, the cost for property insurance coverage last year was approximately $305,000.00. Mayor Bernabei stated that this new policy includes better coverage. Director Highman added that last year we had an additional policy for boiler and machinery coverage which had a $12,300.00 premium. That policy with Cincinnati Insurance will be canceled as that coverage is now included in this new property policy. The Schauer Group representatives received quotes from a variety of insurance carriers and none of them were less than $325,000 and they all had less coverage. The boiler and machinery coverage also went up from $20 million to $500 million. The City now has flood insurance covered under property insurance. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 2. Ordinance 2/2020 Ordinance 2/2020 Enter into a one-year professional services contract with ComProducts, Inc. dba B&C Communications in the amount of $52,288.00 for the maintenance of the City’s portable/mobile Motorola radios. Discussion: Per Director Perry, this is the annual contract that we do with B&C Communications in order to maintain the portable radios throughout all of the City’s departments. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Perry seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried.
