BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes A Board of Control meeting was held Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 9:00 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Bernabei called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. Director of Public Safety Andrea Perry and Director of Public Service John Highman were present. Board Secretary Katie Wise was also present. There were no visitors present. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 8/3/2021 - Minutes 1. Ordinance 37/2021 Award and enter into a construction contract with Gudenkauf, LLC in the amount of $206,473.00 for the 2021 City Fiber Optic Project, GP 1354 for the Engineering Department. Discussion: Mayor Bernabei asked if this was the W. Tuscarawas St. project. Director Highman confirmed that it was. This project had to be bid three times before any bids were received. The bid tabulations were reviewed for three weeks to be thorough. The Engineering Dept. is comfortable using Gudenkauf. Katie Wise added that Gudenkauf specializes in fiber optic work. Hilscher-Clarke is a local vendor but was not eligible for award because they were not the low bidder and they changed the item quantity and unit of measure on their proposal page which deemed their bid to be non-responsive. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 2. Ordinance 244/2020 Award and enter into contract with Equix Integrity, Inc. in the amount of $691,832.50 for the Large Diameter Sanitary Sewer-Cleaning & Televising 2021 Project for the Collection Systems Department. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. Adjournment: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Director Perry seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Meeting adjourned: 9:03 AM
