SPECIAL BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes A Special Board of Control meeting was held Friday, October 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Bernabei called the meeting to order at 10:00 AM. Director of Public Safety Andrea Perry and Director of Public Service John Highman were present. Board Secretary Katie Wise was also present. Visitor present was Doug Foltz, Director of Parks and Recreation. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 10/21/2022 - Minutes 1. Ordinance 225/2022 Enter into contract with DWA Recreation, Inc. in the amount of $496,078.36 for the purchase of playground equipment for Weis, Meyer, Bernard and Maryland Parks for the Parks and Recreation Department pursuant to the Omnia Cooperative Purchasing Program which exempts said purchase from competitive bidding. Discussion: Mayor Bernabei asked if this contract includes the installation of the equipment as well. Director Highman said that this contract is for the purchase of the equipment only. The installation will be done per a separate contract as that will have to be bid. These park projects have been approved by the respective Council members. By finalizing this contract and having the purchase order open by October 31st, we will save $136,000.00. Other park projects will be completed separately at a later date when their site plans are completed. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract.
