BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes The Board of Control meeting was held Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 9:00 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Bernabei called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. Director of Public Service John Highman and Director of Public Safety Andrea Perry were present. Board Secretary Katie Wise was also present. Visitors present were Director Christina Skondras and Dorothy Dittemore from the Human Resources Department. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 1/31/2023 - Minutes 1. Ordinance 91/2021 Enter into contract amendment with Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio for the SE Renewal Project for home repair and public space improvements, in order to extend the contract expiration date from February 28, 2023 to May 31, 2023. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced amendment. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 2. Ordinance 276/2022 Enter into a professional services contract with Community Insurance Company dba Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield for a three-year dental benefit plan for City employees. Ordinance 8/2023 Enter into a professional services contract with IBI Group Engineering Services (USA), Inc. in the amount of $156,573.00 for the design of the Perry Heights Water Main Replacement Project, Phase II. Ordinance 12/2023 Enter into a two-year professional services agreement with the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce in an amount not to exceed $75,000.00 per year for years 2023 and 2024 for the purpose of downtown event programming and economic development services. Ordinance 88/2022 Enter into a professional service contract with Wi-Fiber, LLC in the amount of $76,725.00 for the Purchase and Installation of Security Cameras at the Service Center Impound Lot. Discussion: Mayor Bernabei asked why this project is just now coming through because the ordinance is from early last year. Director Highman stated that this is part of the Service Center upgrade project. This contract is for new cameras at the Impound Lot itself. When the fence is moved and expanded, the cameras will be moved with it. Bond money will be used for this project. Several other contracts will be coming through for the Service Center project which were passed last year. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract.
