BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes The Board of Control meeting was held Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 9:00 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Bernabei called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. Director of Public Service, John Highman was present. Director of Public Safety, Andrea Perry was excused. Board Secretary Katie Wise was also present. There were no visitors present. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 6/6/2023 - Minutes 1. Ordinance 50/2023 Enter into a professional services contract with Pavement Management Group, LLC in the amount of $55,000.000 for continued pavement management services of the network of City streets located in wards 2, 6, 7, 8 and 9. Discussion: Director Highman stated that this will cover the northern part of the City. Mayor Bernabei clarified that this is the assessment program for the street paving. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 2 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 2. Ordinance 50/2023 Award and enter into contract with Rice’s Nursery & Landscaping, Inc. dba Rice’s Landscapes Redefined in the amount of $154,894.86 for the Canton Welcome Sign Landscape Project. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract.  Discussion: No discussion. Ordinance 276/2022 Enter into Change Order No. 3 with The Shelly Company in the amount of $69,850.00 for the Cleveland Ave.-2nd St. NW Onesto Streetscape Project, GP1362 in order to add an ADA compliant trench drain, resulting in a new contract amount of $244,548.12. Discussion: Director Highman provided a synopsis of the progression of the project to date and offered possible options of how the job might be completed. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced change order. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 2 yeas 0 nays Motion carried.
