BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes The Board of Control meeting was held Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 9:00 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Sherer called the meeting to order at 9:02 AM. Director of Public Service, John Highman and Director of Public Safety, Andrea Perry were present. Board Secretary Katie Wise was also present. There were no visitors present. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 2/27/2024 - Minutes 1. Ordinance 3/2024 Enter into towing contracts with Conley’s Service, LLC; Michael R. Spencer, Inc. dba Mike Spencer Towing and Canton Towing & Recovery Enterprises, LLC for as needed light duty and heavy duty towing services. These contracts will be effective April 1, 2024 for a period of three years. Discussion: Mayor Sherer asked that the towing contracts be tabled temporarily. Motion: Mayor Sherer made a motion to table the above referenced contracts. Director Perry seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 2. Canton Codified Ordinance 107.07 Award the sale of scrap metal located at the Collections Systems Department to American Demolition, Inc. in the amount of $175.00 per ton. Discussion: Director Perry asked if this price was higher than the last time this was bid. Katie Wise indicated that is was quite a bit higher. Motion: Mayor Sherer made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded.  indicated that is was quite a bit higher. Motion: Mayor Sherer made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried.
