BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes The Board of Control meeting was held Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 9:00 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Sherer called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. Director of Public Safety, Andrea Perry was present. Director of Public Service, John Highman was excused. Board Secretary Katie Wise was also present. There were no visitors present. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 3/26/2024 - Minutes 1. Ordinance 57/2024 Enter into a professional services contract with Arcadis U.S., Inc. in the amount of $216,800.00 for the design and plan preparation of the Mount Vernon Area Water Main Replacement Project for the Water Department. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Sherer made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Perry seconded. Vote: 2 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 2. Ordinance 34/2024 Enter into contract with The Charles Machine Works, Inc. in the amount of $153,299.03 for the purchase of a Vactor Vacuum Excavator with Trailer for the Water Department pursuant to the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Program which exempts said purchase from competitive bidding. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Sherer made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Perry seconded.  Discussion: No discussion. Ordinance 47/2024 Enter into a professional services agreement with Downtown Canton Partnership, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $250,000.00 per year for two years, utilizing Issue 13 Comprehensive Plan Funds, to be used for the development of Downtown Canton. Discussion: Mayor Sherer asked for this item to be tabled at this time. Motion: Mayor Sherer made a motion to table the above referenced contract. Director Perry seconded. Vote: 2 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. Adjournment: Mayor Sherer made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Director Perry seconded. Vote: 2 yeas 0 nays Meeting adjourned: 9:04 AM
