SPECIAL BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes The Special Board of Control meeting was held Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Sherer called the meeting to order at 11:11 AM. Director of Public Safety, Andrea Perry and Director of Public Service, John Highman were present. Board Secretary Katie Wise was also present. There were no visitors present. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 5/20/2025 - Minutes 1. Ordinance 56/2025 Enter into Change Order No. 1 & Final with The Shelly Company in the amount of $499,876.50 for the 2023 City Paving Program, GP1414, in order to close out the project, resulting in a new contract amount of $4,614,472.55. Discussion: Mayor Sherer asked what all was included in this change order. Director Highman stated that this covered the costs for the work on additional roads, extra base repair, etc. Motion: Mayor Sherer made a motion to approve the above referenced change order. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 2. Ordinance 56/2025 Award and enter into a construction contract with Stanley Miller Construction Co. in the amount of $1,416,623.48 for the Cleveland Ave. NW Improvement Project, Phase 2, GP 1409. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Sherer made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded.  Discussion: No discussion. Ordinance TBD Ordinance 98/2025 Enter into a Summer Programming Agreement with Simply Youth, LLC in the amount of $50,000.00 in order to implement the 2025 Youth Ambassador Program. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Sherer made a motion to approve the above referenced agreement. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried.
