Minutes for Cape May Bike & Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BAPAC) DATE: Feb. 9, 2022 TIME: 4:32 pm LOCATION: City Hall IN ATTENDENCE:  Members: Terry DiUbaldi (via phone), Peter Hardy, Jim Moffat, Hilary Pritchard, Holly Tilford (Chairperson), Jeff Vecere.  Other Attendee(s): none COMMENTS:  Peter: Using Ocean City as an example, the organizers there achieved the support of the local police department, further achieving bike and pedestrian safety.  Holly requested that there be a big plan for bike and pedestrian safety. Others noted that this is already in the Master Plan (which little has been implemented). QUESTION: Why did city ask county to delay planning for SRTS another year? UPDATES:  Public Works, Eric Prusinski (Asst:Edie Kopsitz): o U-bike racks and sharrows have been ordered. Installation planned in March.  County: o Pittsburgh Ave plans going forward. “Authorized Sept 22 by Feds”. “Hawks” will be installed at PA and DE Aves. ACTION ITEMS:  Holly will compile a list to be presented, after review from BAPAC members. This list will be asking the City Council/Mayor/City Mgr for an update on the recommendations of this committee.  Jeff will contact Leslie Gimeno, County Planning Director (609-465-6875), asking to meet with us in order to gain support and updates for upcoming projects in Cape May City. o Green boxes at key intersections o Firmer plans for Beach Ave o Check with Steve Chiaramonte, Supervisor Trans Plan, about possibility of updating Bike Walk Cape May update and to include additonally north side Lafayette (Bank, Broad, Elmira, etc).  Contact ? City Planner/engineer Vince Orlando ( Engineering Design Associates) for support. FUTURE PLANNING:  Decatur Street planning with Jeff Gernitis, Fins’: design to additionally incorporate area behind gazebo and a projected city engineer study.  Lafayette Street and bike path (Phase 4)  SRTS Madison Ave curb cut at Kiwanis Park AND transition at Lafayette St. (green boxes etc) NEXT MEETINGs: City Hall. 4:30 March 23 MEETING ADJOURNED 5:50pm.
