MINUTES OF THE CENTENNIAL CITY COUNCIL Regular City Council Meeting 7:00 PM Tuesday, April 2, 2024 A Regular Meeting of the City Council was held on this date in the Council Chambers at 13133 E. Arapahoe Road, Centennial, Colorado. A full and timely notice of this meeting had been posted and a quorum was present. 1 Call to Order Mayor Piko called the meeting to order at 7:11 PM. 2 Roll Call Those present were: Mayor Piko Council Member Tharp Council Member Carnes Council Member Sweetland Council Member Maurer Council Member Sutherland Council Member Holt Council Member Alston Council Member Sheehan Those absent were: None Also present were: Matthew Sturgeon, City Manager Elisha Thomas, Deputy City Manager Robert Widner, City Attorney Chris Price, Deputy City Attorney Patrick Fleming, Sr. Management Analyst Christina Lovelace, Interim City Clerk Allie Powell, Deputy City Clerk 3 Pledge of Allegiance Mayor Piko led the Pledge of Allegiance. 4 Tribute to Former Council Member Ron Weidmann; 7:12 PM Mayor Piko gave a tribute honoring the life and service of Former District 4 Council Member Ron Weidmann. 5 Consideration of Communications, Proclamations and Appointments; 7:16 PM a Proclamation No. 2024-P-03 April 2024 Donate Life Month Minutes – Regular City Council Meeting 4/2/2024 7:00:00 PM Page 2 Mayor Piko read Proclamation No. 2024-P-03 into the record. 6 Public Comment; 7:24 PM Victor Rogers, 7566 South Emerson Circle, gave comments regarding an Code Compliance case. 7 Scheduled Presentations; 7:28 PM a Trails Park and Recreation District Update Delos Searle, Executive Director of the Trails Park and Recreation District, presented. CONSENT AGENDA Council Member Maurer moved to Approve CONSENT AGENDA. Council Member Sheehan seconded the motion. With Mayor Piko, Council Member Alston, Council Member Carnes, Council Member Holt, Council Member Maurer, Council Member Sheehan, Council Member Sutherland, Council Member Sweetland, Council Member Tharp voting AYE, and (None) voting NAY; Absent: 0. Mayor Piko opened the Public Hearing, seeing no one wishing to speak, the Public Hearing was closed. Council Member Maurer moved to Approve ORDINANCE NO. 2024-O-04, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CENTENNIAL COLORADO ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 2024 EDITION OF THE CENTENNIAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE. Council Member Alston seconded the motion. With Mayor Piko, Council Member Alston, Council Member Carnes, Council Member Holt, Council Member Maurer, Council Member Sheehan, Council Member Sutherland, Council Member Sweetland, Council Member Tharp voting AYE, and (None) voting NAY; Absent: 0. THE MOTION Passed. 12 Consideration of Resolutions (None) 13 Consideration of Other Items; 7:57 PM a General Improvement District Proposed Policy and Code Updates Patrick Fleming, Senior Management Analyst, and Chris Price, Deputy City Attorney, presented. Consensus was to move forward as presented. GENERAL BUSINESS 14 Other Matters as May Come Before Council; 9:08 PM a REQUEST TO BRING ORDINANCE NO. 2024-O-03, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CENTENNIAL, COLORADO AMENDING CHAPTER 12 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE (LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE) CONCERNING ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS BACK BEFORE COUNCIL. Mayor Piko brought forward a request to bring back the previously considered Ordinance No. 2024-O-03 with proposed amendments for consideration by Council.
