MINUTES OF THE CENTENNIAL CITY COUNCIL Study Session 6:00 PM Wednesday, January 23, 2013 A Study Session of the City Council was held on this date in the City Council Chambers at 13133 E. Arapahoe Road, Centennial, Colorado. A full and timely notice of this meeting had been posted and a quorum was present. A. Call to Order Mayor Noon called the meeting to order at 6:04 PM. B. Roll Call Those present were: Council Member Dindinger Council Member Gardner Council Member Bosier Council Member McClellan Council Member Piko Council Member Lucas Council Member Weidmann, excused Council Member Moon, excused Mayor Noon Those absent were: None Also present were: John Danielson, City Manager Bob Widner, City Attorney Wayne Reed, Deputy City Manager Elisha Thomas, Assistant to the City Manager/Director of Administrative Services Dave Zelenok, Director of Office of Innovation Jeff Brasel, Principal Planner Brenda Madison, City Clerk Kelly Ohaver, Executive Assistant C. Miller/Wenhold Capitol Update; 6:04 PM Paul Miller and Ken Butler, representing Miller/Wenhold, presented. D. I-25 Corridor Plan City Council Update; 6:37 PM Jeff Brasel, Principal Planner, and Jeff Winston, Winston and Associates, presented. The meeting was recessed at 7:09 PM for the Regular Meeting and reconvened at 7:36 PM. Dove Valley Partnership - Briefing/Discussion; 7:36 PM Dave Zelenok, Director of the Office of Innovation, made a brief introduction. Greg Armstrong, Al Thurman and Don Casper, representing the Dove Valley Partnership, presented. Other Matters and Reports were moved to the Study Session Agenda from the Regular Meeting. F. Other Matters Council Member Bosier asked for a resolution to help start a charter school in Englewood. Consensus was not to move forward. Council Member Moon suggested looking at the Council’s travel policy. Council Member Weidmann supported this suggestion, while Council Members Dindinger, McClellan, Bosier and Lucas opposed. Council Member McClellan felt there should be discussion about raising the salary of Council Members. Consensus was to have further discussion about Council Member salary raises and expenses of Council Members. Council Member Piko expressed concern over panhandlers at the Centennial Promenade shopping area. John Danielson, City Manager, stated the manager of the center was working to prevent this. Council Member Piko also expressed concern about panhandlers on CDOT corners. Consensus was to have further discussion regarding these concerns. G. Reports a. City Manager John Danielson, City Manager, made a brief report. b. City Attorney Bob Widner, City Attorney, made a brief report. c. City Clerk (None) d. Council Members Council Members Weidmann, Lucas, Bosier, Gardner, and Moon made brief report. H. Mayor’s Report and Comments Mayor Noon made a brief report.
