Chandler Public Library

December 4, 2012 The City of Chandler Public Library Board met for a special scheduled meeting Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Chandler City Hall. Meeting was called to order at 5:30pm by Ann Hall, Board Member. Members Present: Alice Murl Kidd Betty Moore Barbara Reeves Ann Hall Carol Yarbrough C.J. Hughes Absent: Kari Bersano Regular Session: Item 1. Carol Yarbrough made a motion to approve proposal for adding shelving in the library. C.J. Hughes seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Item 2. Nancy Bertholf updated the board on the following items; no action taken. •Year to end statistics for the library: Circulation continues to go up. From 2010 numbers at 14,017 to 2012 numbers at 16,215. Total members at 3964; Accredited from the Texas State Library. • Civil War Expo Grant: Traveling exhibit: A collection of Civil War Items that will be on display to the public. This is a 2014 award and $1,000.00 that come with this grant. We will be able to have Joint programs with the school district. It will also tie in with the museum. • J. Frank Dobie Grant Application: Awarded in April, $3000.00 for audio and large print books. We have been designated a retirement community. The need for audio and large print has increased. We will not know the results until March or April. • 2012/2013 Library Budget: $39,434.00 total budget for this fiscal year. The County has budgeted approx. $18,000.00 to our local library that we will receive around February.
