The City of Chandler Parks Board met for a regular scheduled meeting on Wednesday,
May 4, 2011 at Chandler City Hall. Rick Ford, Park Board Chairman called the
meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. The invocation was given by Bill Pollard.

Sheila Haskins, Administrative Secretary
Jim Moffeit, City Administrator
Visitors Present:
John Taylor, City Planner/Asst to City Administrator
Absent:
Earl Wilmeth
Cody Seale
Item 1: John Taylor, City Planner/Asst to City Administrator was introduced to
the board.
Item 2: Current park projects were discussed. The possibility of applying for a
small city grant to help pay for a sprayground is being researched. A new parking lot
has been completed where the rodeo grounds used to be. Air conditioning in the
concession stand has been installed and is finished. There is now a fence around the
concession area. Installing plexiglass in the concession stand was discussed. There
are lights out on field #3 that need to be replaced as soon as there are funds to do so.
Item 3: CityFest was discussed. There is a great need for volunteers. Jim
Moffeit gave an update on the Memorial Day service, music and activities that are
planned. He also updated the board on the status of purchasing and moving the
Yarborough home to McCain Park for a museum.
Meeting was adjourned at 12:36 p.m.

E. VISITORS/CITIZENS FORUM: The Public may comment on any matter or concern
regarding the Parks and Recreation Board. Limited to the first five to sign up, each will be
allowed 5 minutes. No formal action or discussion will be taken at this time.
F. REGULAR SESSION: Subjects to be discussed or upon which any formal action may be
taken are as follows:
1. Discuss completed, ongoing and upcoming projects at Winchester Park.
2. Discuss CityFest.
G. ADJOURNMENT;
