The City of Chandler Parks and Recreation Board met for a regular scheduled meeting on Monday, January
25, 2016 at the Chandler Community Center. Rick Ford, Special Events Coordinator called the meeting to
order at 6:00 p.m.

VISITORS FORUM: Jarrett Stephenson spoke to the board concerning the need for a pavilion at River Park.
He also asked that the city clean the underbrush near the river.
REGULAR SESSION:
Item 1: Kari Bersano made a motion to approve recommendation of the following board members.
Kenny Knable-Softball, Breanna Neeley-Softball, and Jeremy Kirkpatrick-Soccer. Kim Fleming
seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Item 2: Libby Fulgham made a motion to approve pricing for advertising pricing for park signage. Kari
Bersano seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

18x24 Small Concession $500.00
Outside fence $500.00 Choice of field
Existing signage-2nd year $300.00
Item 3: Paul Drake made a motion to create a vetting process where any player wanting to leave the
CSA League to play for another league must come before the CSA board. Kim Fleming
seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Kenny Knable made a motion to approve the ASA mandatory rule of face mask for players in
the 8 and under girl’s category. Hootie Nix seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Kari Bersano made a motion to approve the rule of only CSA teams practicing on the fields
during regular scheduled practice times. Hootie Nix seconded the motion. Motion carried
unanimously.
Item 4: Rick Ford updated the board on league progress. Items discussed were as follows.
Free baseball/Skills Assessment Clinic. Two weekends from 9am-noon and noon-3pm. Possibly
getting college players to help.
Practice time on the web site with older players taking the later practice times.
Options for Instructional players practice locations.
Girls draft will be Feb. 28th.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:02p.m.

E. VISITORS/CITIZENS FORUM: The Public may comment on any matter or concern
regarding the Parks and Recreation Board. Limited to the first five to sign up, each will be
allowed 3 minutes. No formal action or discussion will be taken at this time.
F. REGULAR SESSION: Subjects to be discussed or upon which any formal action may be
taken are as follows:
1. Consider and act on appointing board members to represent softball and soccer.
2. Consider and act on advertising pricing for park signage.
3. Consider and act on any league change recommendations.
4. Rick Ford to provide update on league progress.
G. ADJOURNMENT;

MEETING.

accessible to the general public at all times, and said notice was posted on the following date and

January 21, 2016, at 2:00pm and remained so posted at least 2 hours before said meeting was
