The City of Chandler Parks and Recreation Board met for a special scheduled meeting on Monday, November
7, 2016 at the Chandler Community Center. Rick Ford, Special Events Coordinator called the meeting to order
at 5:36 p.m.
Members Present:
Rick Ford-Staff Support Nancy Bertholf
Ann Hall Kenny Knable
Libby Fulgham
Kari Bersano
Hootie Nix
Absent:
Jeremy Kirkpatrick
REGULAR SESSION:
Item 1: Ann Hall made a motion to appoint Nancy Bertholf as Chairman of the Parks & Recreation
Board. Kenny Knable seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Nancy Bertholf made a motion to appoint Ann Hall as Vice Chairman. Hootie Nix seconded the
motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Item 2: Ann Hall made a motion to shorten the fall league to 8 games from 10 and keep the price the
same. Hootie Nix seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Ann Hall made a motion to approve attached schedule of dates for the 2017 Season. Kenny
Knable seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Kenny Knable made a motion to create the spring schedule by assigning a number, once
number of teams are known, then draw team numbers once draft is completed. Libby Fulgham
seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Kari Bersano made a motion to approve implementing more softball tournaments through FASA
and USSSA. Hootie Nix seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Kenny Knable made a motion to give staff direction to create a complaint form for the website
with clear instructions on how it will be handled. Hootie Nix seconded the motion. Motion carried
unanimously.
Approved tabling the umpire issue until next meeting when additional information can be
brought to the board.
Ann Hall made a motion to approve the recommendation to City Council to leave Rick Ford’s
CSA Coordinator contract the same through August 1st, at which time it will be reevaluated.
Kenny Knable seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Item 3: No action taken
Meeting was adjourned at 6:50p.m.
