Announcements Chair Rees introduced the new Planning Commission member, Elizabeth Losos. Commission members each gave a brief introduction of themselves and their expertise. Page 1 of 3 Planning Commission Action Minutes November 17, 2020 1. Updates from Advisory Board Champions [20-0118] This time provides an opportunity for Advisory Board Champions to relay updates from their latest meetings, as needed. Updates were shared from the Housing Advisory Board, Environmental Stewardship Advisory Board, and Transportation and Connectivity Advisory Board. In response to the recent pedestrian crash on E Franklin St, Everhart proposed asking Town Council to adopt Vision Zero, if it hasn't been adopted already. 2. Updates from Town Staff [20-0799] This time provides an opportunity for Town Staff to relay updates, as needed. Town Staff shared an upcoming Joint Advisory Board Meeting scheduled for December 7th at 5:30pm, regarding Chapter 160D of the North Carolina General Statutes. Petitions Approval of Minutes 3. Planning Commission Action Minutes for October 20, 2020 [20-0800] A motion was made by McCullough, seconded by Everhart, that the minutes be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 7 - Chair John Rees, Vice-Chair Louie Rivers, James Baxter, Neal Bench, Michael Everhart, Melissa McCullough, and Stephen Whitlow Abstain: 1 - Elizabeth Losos New Business 4. Election of Chair and Vice-Chair [20-0801] A vote was held regarding the nomination of Michael Everhart for the position of Chair. Everhart's appointment was approved by the following vote: Aye: 8 - Chair John Rees, Vice-Chair Louie Rivers, James Baxter, Neal Bench, Michael Everhart, Elizabeth Losos, Melissa McCullough, and Stephen Whitlow Page 2 of 3 Planning Commission Action Minutes November 17, 2020 A vote was held regarding the nomination of James Baxter for the position of Vice-Chair.
