Meeting Opening Terry Woods called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. 1.1 Moment of Silence 1.2 Pledge of Allegiance 1.3 Call to Order 1.4 Roll Call Present: Terry Woods; Jared Koester Absent: Diane VanderKooy Others Present: Chief Vern Foli; Village Attorney Lisa Petrilli; Village Clerk Dan Holden 1.5. Public Comments Agenda Topics There were no Public Comments on Agenda Topics during this meeting. A motion was made by Jared Koester to allow Terry Woods to chair the meeting in the absence of Diane VanderKooy. This motion was seconded by Terry Woods. By an affirmative vote of the members present, the motion passed. 2. Consent Agenda 2.1 Minutes from the Fire and Police Commission March 12, 2025 Meeting A motion was made by Jared Koester to bring the Consent Agenda to the table for discussion. This motion was seconded by Terry Woods. By an affirmative voice vote of the members present, the motion passed and the Consent Agenda was approved. 3. Old Business There was no Old Business discussed at this meeting. 4. New Business 4.1 Officer Eligibility List 2 transfer/lateral transfers 2 candidates attended the recent testing session. There is a need to test again. A new Police Academy class will start in September and Chief Foli would like to have candidates able to attend. A posting for new officer recruits will be out soon with a closing date of June 30, 2025. This would allow the testing day to be July 13, 2025. 4.2 Police Commission Rules An update is needed, specifically regarding payroll and wages in Section 10, page 25. A motion was made by Jared Koester to approve the update to the Rules. This motion was seconded by Terry Woods. By an affirmative vote of the members present, the motion passed. 4.3 Chief Update Officer Pierce hire in 2 to 3 weeks. Officer Benedict will graduate from the Academy. Officer Jenny Williams will be hired in July. She will take the physical later in the month of April. Current count of Full time officers is 17. Allocated 18. 4.4 Public Comments Village Business There were no public comments regarding Village Business at this meeting. 5. Next Scheduled Meeting 5.1 Chatham Fire and Police Commission meeting is scheduled for July 9, 2025 @ 5:30 pm. Page 3 of 4 6. Closed / Executive Session 6.1 Personnel under 2(c)(1) There was no need for Closed Session during this meeting. 7. Adjournment 7.1 Adjourn Meeting A motion was made by Jared Koester to adjourn the Police Commission meeting. This motion was seconded by Terry Woods.
