1. Meeting Opening
Diane VanderKoy called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

Present: Terry Woods; Jared Koester, Diane VanderKooy
Absent: No one
Others Present: Chief Vern Foli; Village Attorney Lisa Petrilli; Village Clerk Dan Holden
1.5. Public Comments Agenda Topics
There were no Public Comments on Agenda Topics during this meeting.
A motion was made by Jared Koester to nominate Terry Woods as the chair for the meetings
over the next year. This motion was seconded by Diane VanderKooy. By an affirmative vote
of the members present, the motion passed.
2. Consent Agenda
2.1 Minutes from the Fire and Police Commission on April 17, 2025 Meeting
A motion was made by Jared Koester to bring the Consent Agenda to the table for discussion.
This motion was seconded by Terry Woods. By an affirmative voice vote of the members
present, the motion passed and the Consent Agenda was approved.
3. Old Business
There was no Old Business discussed at this meeting.
4. New Business
4.1 Probationary Officer Release
Chief Foli informed the Commission that Adam Holm has completed his time and training and
will be released from Probationary Status.
4.2 Officer Eligibility List
There was a testing session held on July 13, 2025. 7 people applied. 1 backed out. 6
candidates tested. 6 names added to the Officer Eligibility List.
6 candidates applied to be added to the Lateral Transfer List.
A motion was made by Diane VanderKooy to approve and accept the Lateral Transfer List. This
motion was seconded by Jared Koester. By an affirmative voice vote of the members
present, the motion passed.
A motion was made by Diane VanderKooy to approve and accept the New Officer Hire List.
This motion was seconded by Jared Koester. By an affirmative voice vote of the members
present, the motion passed.
4.3 Chief Update
There were two candidates on the Previous New Hire List that Chief Foli would like removed.
A motion was made by Jared Koester to remove “C.C.” from the New Hire List. This motion was
seconded by Diane VanderKooy. By an affirmative voice vote of the members present, the
motion passed.
A motion was made by Diane VanderKooy to remove “R.M.” from the New Hire List. This
motion was seconded by Jared Koester. By an affirmative voice vote of the members
present, the motion passed.

Chief Foli provided an update on the next Police Academy. August 2nd and 3rd will be the Pre-
Physical for the Academy.
4.4 Public Comments Village Business
There were no public comments regarding Village Business at this meeting.
5. Next Scheduled Meeting
5.1 Chatham Fire and Police Commission meeting is scheduled for October 22nd @ 5:30 pm.
6. Closed / Executive Session
6.1 Personnel under 2(c)(1)
There was no need for Closed Session during this meeting.
7. Adjournment
7.1 Adjourn Meeting
A motion was made by Diane VanderKooy to adjourn the Police Commission meeting. This
motion was seconded by Jared Koester. By an affirmative vote of the members present, the
motion passed, and the meeting adjourned at 6:01 p.m.
