of Chattanooga that will support the broader 2022 SS4A Comprehensive Safety

– Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), depending upon inclusion in the
Capital Budget and approval bytheCityCouncil,foranamountupto$2.8million,
with a local not to exceed twenty (20%) percent match of $560,000.00.
POLICE
i. A resolution authorizing the Chief of Police to apply for, and if awarded, accept a
grantfromtheBJAfortheFY2024LocalLawEnforcementCrimeGunIntelligence
CenterIntegrationInitiative(CGIC)tobeusedtoexpandourcurrentaward-winning
programbyenhancingtechnologicalandtrainingcapabilitiestocontinueourmission
to reduce crime gun violence while expanding our ability to utilize crime gun
intelligence,foratwo(2)yearperiodbeginningOctober1,2024,untilSeptember30,
2026, in the amount of $300,000.00.
j. A resolution authorizing the Chief of Police to apply for, and if awarded, accept a
grant from the Hamilton County District 3 Homeland Security Council, U.S.
DepartmentofHomelandSecurity,OfficeforDomesticPreparednessStateHomeland
SecurityGrantProgramwhichin2023awardedHamiltonCounty$209,546.88which
willbeadministeredtoChattanoogaPolice,SoddyDaisy,andHamiltonCounty,and
Chattanooga Police, will receive $59,500.00 to purchase three (3)canines,training,
and equipment for a grant period ending January 31, 2026.
