Minutes
Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 5:30 pm
1. Call to Order
Minutes:
Members Present: Mayor Byrd, Jim Crawford, Tom Boan, Cherryl Melton, Jerry Tucker,
Amy Gavin and Robert Williams. Others Present: Brian Rogers, Patti Norris, Madison
Scott, Lisa Kiser and Bennie Miles (The Link)
2. Approval of Minutes of the April 28th Town of Cheraw Briefing Minutes.
Minutes:
Councilwoman Melton made a motion to approve April minutes. Councilman Boan
seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.
3. Introduction of the Town of Cheraw's Diamond Youth Baseball Team for the State
Tournament Hosted by the Town of Cheraw.
Minutes:
Introduction of the Town's youth baseball team that will be representing us in the 2026
Diamond Youth Baseball Tournament in June. Mayor Byrd and council wished them the
best of luck!
4. Monthly Update from Town Manager
a. Repairs to the Truck #34 in Public Works
5. Executive Session
a. Request to Enter into Executive Session to Discuss Contractual and
Personnel Matters.
Minutes:
Councilman Boan made a motion to enter into executive session. Councilman
Crawford seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.
Entered into executive session at 5:41. Councilman Crawford made a motion to
exit executive session. Councilman Tucker seconded the motion and the
motion passed unanimously. Exited executive session at 7:15pm.

2. Approval of Minutes of the April 28th Town of Cheraw Briefing Minutes.
3. Introduction of the Town of Cheraw's Diamond Youth Baseball Team for the State
Tournament Hosted by the Town of Cheraw.
4. Monthly Update from Town Manager
a. Repairs to the Truck #34 in Public Works
Brian states that Public Works leaf truck is in need of repair. The motor mechanism that
sucks the leaves up is no longer working. We have had several mechanics look at repairing
the motor. The best and cheapest route for us to take is to have the motor replaced and
the estimated price is $30,000. This will be brought to council as a request from Brian at
the next council meeting.
5. Executive Session
a. Request to Enter into Executive Session to Discuss Contractual and
Personnel Matters.
Council May Not Take Action Upon Leaving Executive Session.
6. Adjourn
Councilwoman Melton made a motion to adjourn. Councilwoman Gavin seconded the motion and
the motion passed unanimously.
Meeting adjourned 7:15pm.
