Cheraw Town Council Finance Committee Meeting Minutes Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 4:30 pm 1. Call to Order Minutes: Meeting was called to order at 4:30 pm by Tom Boan. In attendance were Tom Boan, Jim Crawford, Jerry Tucker, Brian Rogers, Patti Norris and Bill Hancock (The Brittingham Group). 2. Review of Cheraw Fiscal Year 25 Audit with the Brittingham Group Minutes: Bill reviewed the audit for fiscal year 2024-2025. Overall the town is in good financial standing. There were a few concerns that Jim brought to Bill's attention, they have decided it was probably a typo and those corrections would be made. There were no findings in the audit and we qualify as a low risk auditee. Bill asked if there were any questions or concerns from the finance committee and none were noted. 3. Discuss Change Order for Waste Treatment Plant Minutes: Doug Stowe, department head for Water, Waste Water and Public Utilities was asked to speak on the change order from Harper Construction. Doug states that the existing grid equipment including the classifier has not been operational in over 10 years. This change order is to replace the classifier that will make the grid equipment operational. The price of this change order is $208,828.47. Finance committee agreed this change order is necessary and they approve the change order. 4. Adjourn Minutes: Jim made a motion for the meeting to adjourn.
