Cheraw Town Council Planning Retreat Minutes Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 9:00 am 1. Call to Order Minutes: Council Member Present: Tom Boan, Jerry Tucker, Jim Crawford, Cherryl Melton, Amy Gavin, and Robert Williams. Mayor David Byrd, Jon Pierce PH.D., Patti Norris, and Brian Rogers and Bennie Miles (The Link) were also present. 2. Planning Discussion Among Town Council and Administration in Preparation for upcoming Fiscal Year. Minutes: The Clerk/Treasurer provided an overview of the Town's finances. She reported that the Town's financial status is healthy. 3. Executive Session Minutes: Councilman Crawford made a motion to enter into executive session. Councilman Tucker seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously. Entered into executive session at 9:34am. Councilwoman Melton made a motion to exit executive session. Councilwoman Gavin seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously. Exited executive session at 12:10pm a. To Discuss Personnel Matters in all Town of Cheraw Departments. 4. Adjourn Minutes: Councilman Boan made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Crawford seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.
