MINUTES CITY OF CHEROKEE VILLAGE, ARKANSAS SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING Tuesday, December 5, 2023, 6: 00 P. M., CHEROKEE VILLAGE CITY HALL CALL TO ORDER— Mayor Rose called the Special Council Meeting to order at 6: 00 PM PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE— Mayor Rose lead the Pledge of Allegiance. MOMENT OF SILENCE- A Moment of Silence was observed. ROLL CALL, ESTABLISH QUORUM— City Clerk Penny Trumpy called Roll Call of Council Members: Present: Heather Harrison, Steve Thompson, Peter Martin, Rob Smith, Eddie Ishmael( per phone at 6: 05 pm) Pamela Rowland( per phone). Absent: Rachael Tatum, and Jeff Tatum. Quorum established. Mayor Steven R. Rose was present. APPROVAL OF AGENDA PUBLIC COMMENTS/ QUESTIONS ON AGENDA ITEMS( limit 3 minutes per person) NEW BUSINESS: 1. PURCHASE OF 2 POLICE VEHICLES— Police Chief Lane Council Member Smith motioned to open the floor for discussion, seconded by Council Member Martin. a. Purchase price for the vehicles are$ 44, 900 if purchased in 2023 or$ 49, 900 if purchased in 2024. b. if purchased in 2023 the vehicles are on the lot ready to be picked up or will be ordered if purchased in 2024 and delivery may be 6 months to a year. c. $ 89, 600 will be taken from savings to purchase vehicles, and then be replaced with ARPA revenue replacement. Mayor Rose stated funds were in Centennial Bank which is incorrect. The funds are in First Community Bank. Roll Call Vote: Thompson yes, Martin yes, Smith yes, Ishmael yes, Rowland yes, Harrison yes. 6 yea's Motion Passed ADJOURNMENT— Council Member Martin motioned to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Smith.
