CHICOPEE CITY COUNCIL HUMAN RESOURCE C OMMITTEE APPROVED 9-30-2014 MEMBERS James Tillotson Gary Labrie Gerry Roy Timothy McLellan William Zaskey MINUTES September 8, 2014 The following are the minutes of a public hearing held Monday, September 8, 2014 at 6:15 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, Fourth Floor, City Hall Annex, 274 Front Street, 4th floor, Chicopee, MA 01013 Present: Tillotson, Labrie, McLellan Absent: Roy, Zaskey Also Present: Councilor Lamontagne, Councilor Krampits, Councilor Zygarowski, Councilor Laflamme, Councilor Brooks, Daniel Garvey (Associate City Solicitor) Meeting called to order at 6:15 PM In compliance with the Open Meeting Law the Chairman asked if anyone in the audience was recording the meeting. ITEM #1 Mayoral appointment of Brian J. Pearly as a member of the Planning Board to serve in such office for the term of 5 years on the 1st of April, 2019 Councilor Tillotson stated we haven’t had anyone quite as qualified as you in a while. You bring a unique perspective to the position as an Attorney and I’m sure you’ve dealt with some of these issues; zoning and land use, so you come ready to hit the ground running. Brian J. Pearly stated some of my cases involve zoning determinations so I’ve seen a number of things that have already come before the Planning Board. Councilor Laflamme stated I’m glad the Mayor put someone that’s qualified on this committee, it’s important for the business and the city. I’m glad to see you come on board. Laflamme motion to approve – Tillotson 2nd the motion – motion passed. Committee vote 3 – 0 favorable ITEM #2 Minutes – August 25, 2014. Motion made to approve. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 6:20 PM. 1
