CHICOPEE CITY COUNCIL HUMAN RESOURCE C OMMITTEE MEMBERS James Tillotson APPROVED Gary Labrie Gerry Roy Timothy McLellan William Zaskey MINUTES August 24, 2015 The following are the minutes of a public hearing held Monday, August 24, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, Fourth Floor, City Hall Annex, 274 Front Street, 4th floor, Chicopee, MA 01013 Present: Tillotson, Labrie, Zaskey Absent: Roy, McLellan Also Present: Councilor Zygarowski, Councilor Laflamme, Councilor Lamontagne, Daniel Garvey (Associate City Solicitor) Meeting called to order at 6:00 PM In compliance with the Open Meeting Law the Chairman asked if anyone in the audience was recording the meeting. ITEM #1 Mayoral appointment of Glenn Laplante as a member of the Golf Commission to serve in such office for the term of 5 years expiring on the 1st of August 2020. Mr. Laplante stated that he is an avid golfer and utilizes various golf courses. He feels that he can provide good experience and help the municipal golf course. Motion made by Councilor Zaskey and second by Councilor Tillotson to approve. Committee vote 3 – 0 favorable. ITEM #2 Mayoral appointment of Thomas Bresnahan as a member of the Parks & Rec Commission to serve in such office for the term of 5 years expiring on the 1st of August 2020. Councilor Tillotson stated that Mr. Bresnahan contacted him and could not attend tonight’s meeting because he is giving a lecture. Councilor Zaskey and Councilor Brooks both spoke about Mr. Bresnahan that he is a highly qualified person for the Parks & Rec Commission. Councilor Tillotson stated that if the committee would like to meet with Mr. Bresnahan than the committee needs to postpone this matter until another meeting is called or the committee can move forward with this confirmation with the resume submitted and the recommendations of the Councilors that know him. 1  Motion made by Councilor Zaskey and second by Councilor Labrie to approve. Committee vote 3 – 0 favorable. ITEM #3 Minutes – March 31, 2015 & June 22, 2015. Motion made to approve. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 6:14 PM. 2
