City of Chicopee City Council Human Resources Committee APPROVE 1-24-2023 Members James Tillotson Gary Labrie Jerry Roy Pniak-Costello Krampits MINUTES January 10, 2023 The following are the minutes of a public hearing held Tuesday, January 10, 2023 6:15 PM in the City Council Chambers, Fourth Floor, City Hall Annex, 274 Front Street, Chicopee, MA 01013. Members Present Tillotson (Zoom), Labrie, Pniak-Costello, Krampits Member Absent Roy Also Present Dan Garvey (Associate City Solicitor), Councilor Laflamme, Councilor Zygarowski, Councilor Dobosz The meeting was called to order at 6:15 PM In compliance with the Open Meeting Law the Chairman asked if anyone in the audience was recording the meeting. Hearing none the meeting continued. The meeting was called to order at 6:15 PM ITEM #1 Mayoral appointment of Jay Paul to the Planning Board to serve in such position for the term expiring on the 3rd day of January 2028. Jay Paul was present at the meeting. He stated that he has pretty much lived most of my life in Chicopee. He was involved in a lot of sports. He knows most of the Councilors present through some channel. He continued that one of the big things is he looks to have a family going forward and wants to make sure that he can be a part of the positive change that he sees the city making. Currently, he is the Chief Engineer at Nexstar in Chicopee and he also owns a gym on the Chicopee South Hadley line. Motion made by Councilor Pniak-Costello and second by Councilor Labrie to approve. Moreau to the Planning Board to serve in such position for the term expiring on the 3rd day of January 2028. Committee was informed that Nathan Moreau is sick and is unable to attend tonight’s meeting. Motion made by Councilor Tillotson and second by Councilor Labrie to postpone to the call of the chair.
