Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting Agenda Tuesday, March 11, 2025 7:00 p.m. A. Call meeting to order: Attendance: B. Minutes of last meeting: February 11, 2025 C. Approval of Bills: Warrants dated February 28th and March 7th D. Public Input: Each speaker is asked to direct their comments to the Chair and keep their remarks to 5 minutes. E. Communications: 1. Request from Paul Langevin of AJAC for field use for Spring Soccer at Williams, Ray Ash, Litwin, Bellamy, and Ike Alpert. 2. Request from Brent Dillard of Gold Star Soccer to run the Spring Gold Star Zoo program at Williams Park on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. 3. Request from Brent Dillard of Gold Star Soccer to run the Gold Star Summer Soccer Camp at Ike Alpert Park on July 28th to August 1st. 4. Request from Brent Dillard of Gold Star Soccer to run four Futsal Clinics at Ike Alpert. Clinics are three days from 9am to 1pm. 5. Request from Brent Dillard of Gold Star Soccer to hold a 2v2 Soccer Tournament at Ike Alpert on June 28th from 8am to 4pm. 6. Request from Brent Dillard of Gold Star Soccer to hold a 4v4 Soccer Tournament at Ike Alpert on Augst 16th from 8am to 4pm. 7. Other Communications F. Maintenance Report: 1. Parks Labor Force: Current Park openings: (1) 11L – Working Foreman, (4) 5L – MEO/Laborer, (4) Temporary Laborers. All other positions are filled. G. Recreation Report: 1. Adult Rec Programs: Tang Soo Do Korean Martial Arts, Yoga 2. Adult Rec Leagues: Volleyball – Playoffs beginning. Men’s Basketball – Season on-going. Adult Softball – Beginning late April 3. Youth Rec Leagues: Suburban Basketball – Playoffs. Youth Basketball – Season ends March 9th. Youth Baseball/Softball – Meeting March 5th. Practices begin March 31st. 4. Youth Rec Programs: Tang Soo Do Korean Martial Arts. 5. Aquatics: Winter Open Swim / Swim Lessons – Sundays at CHS Pool. Lifeguard Training Course – February 18-21 6. Safety: CPR/First Aid/AED – February 22nd. April and May TBA. 7. Trips: Boston Red Sox at Chicago Cubs – July 18-21 8. OPEE: June 30th – August 8th 9.
