Location: 543 Lafleur Dr. Chicopee, MA 01013. Applicant: Veronica Jaszek, same address. Notes: The Applicant was in attendance via Zoom and presented the petition to the Board. He noted the carport for which he had placed a deposit was a metal carport. His intention was to place the carport at the end of the driveway. An 8’ x 12’ shed is currently located at the end of the driveway. Board Member Anthony Gallant noted he had been at the site and observed the shed was sitting on blocks and could easily be moved to accommodate the carport at the proper setback. The Applicant commented that it was not his desire to relocate the shed. Staff noted that the Board had received two comments from abutters stating they were in opposition to the Variance since the property was large enough to accommodate the carport without needing a Variance; Anthony Gallant read the comments into the meeting record. Board Members Gary Stamborski and Anthony Gallant estimated the cost to move the shed was minimal and physically could easily be done. Board Member Katherine Baldiga noted she did not believe there was a legitimate hardship to warrant granting a Variance. Due to Covid-19 meeting regulations, the Board voted to table the hearing on this item to May 20, 2021 to allow an adequate public comment period. Motion to table to May 20, 2021 was made by Anthony Gallant and seconded by Katherine Baldiga. Vote was 5-0 to table to May 20, 2021.
