The Brown Act provides for an opportunity for members of the public to address the City Council concerning the items described below. Each speaker will be limited to four (4) continuous minutes. Pursuant to the local emergency concerning the COVID-19 virus declared by the City Council of the City of Claremont on March 19, 2020, the Los Angeles County Department of Health's "Safer at Home Order" issued March 19, 2020, and Executive Order N-29-20 issued by Governor Gavin Newsom on March 18, 2020, the following protocols will apply to public participation for the duration of the emergency: Members of the public will not be permitted to be physically present at meetings. To allow for public participation, the City Council will conduct its meeting through Zoom Video Communications. The Council requests, but does not require, the public speakers to identify themselves. OPTION 1: LIVE COMMENTS - Through Zoom, someone wishing to speak may virtually "raise your hand". Wait to be called upon by the City Clerk, and then you may provide verbal comments for up to four minutes. If you are dialing in by telephone and wish to speak, please push *9. All emails will be distributed to the City Council and imaged into the City’s document archive system. OPTION 3: MAIL - Public comments may be mailed to Claremont City Hall, Attn: City Clerk’s Office, PO Box 880, Claremont, CA 91711. All comments received via mail will be distributed to the City Council and imaged into the City’s document archive system. OPTION 4: TELEPHONICALLY - Members of the public wanting to address the City Council telephonically are requested to inform the Claremont City Clerk's office no later than 3:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. Pursuant to California Government Code Section 54957(b)(1): PUBLIC EMPLOYEE – EXTENSION OF TERM OF CITY MANAGER EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT Title: City Manager The initial term of the City Manager's Employment Agreement expires February 23, 2022. The City Council will conduct a closed session pursuant to paragraph (1) of subdivision (b) of Section 54957 of the California Government Code to discuss an extension to the term of the City Manager’s Employment Agreement. and 2. Pursuant to California Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(1) CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - EXISTING LITIGATION The City Council will conduct a closed session pursuant to paragraph (1) of subdivision (d) of Section 54956.9 of the California Government Code to discuss existing litigation between City of Claremont (Petitioner) versus Sandblossom, LLC (Respondent), Los Angeles County Superior Court Case No 19PSCP00027.
