APPOINTMENT OF A MEMBER TO THE COMMUNITY AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION Recommendation: The 2023 City Council Ad Hoc Selection Committee recommends the City Council appoint Russ Binder to the Community and Human Services Commission for a term to commence immediately and terminate August 31, 2027. Council Assignment Reports City Councilmembers may serve as representatives on regional organizations. This time is allocated for reports about their activities. CITY MANAGER REPORT PUBLIC COMMENT The Council has set aside this time for persons who wish to comment on items that are not listed Page 3 City Council Agenda February 27, 2024 on the agenda, but are within the jurisdiction of the City Council. Members of the public will have the opportunity to address the City Council regarding all items on the agenda at the time the Council considers those items. General public comment will be taken for 30 minutes and will resume later in the meeting if there are speakers who did not get an opportunity to speak because of the 30-minute time limit. The Brown Act prohibits the City Council from taking action on oral requests relating to items that are not on the agenda. The Council may engage in a brief discussion, refer the matter to staff, and/or schedule requests for consideration at a subsequent meeting. FOR EMERGENCY BOILER REPLACEMENT SERVICES AT THE CLAREMONT POLICE DEPARTMENT (FUNDING SOURCE: EQUIPMENT AND FACILITY REVOLVING RESERVE) Recommendation: Staff recommends the City Council: A. Authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement with First Class Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. in the amount of $43,350.37 for emergency boiler replacement services; and B. Appropriate $43,350.37 from the Equipment and Facility Revolving Reserve to fully fund the emergency boiler replacement. 6. AUTHORIZATION TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH MUSCO SPORTS LIGHTING, LLC. FOR SPORTS FIELD LIGHTING CONTROL UPGRADES (FUNDING SOURCE: YOUTH SPORTS COMMITTEE SELF-IMPOSED USER IMPROVEMENT FUND) Recommendation: Staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Musco Sports Lighting, LLC. in the amount of $29,980.50 for the purchase, installation, and support of Control-Link systems at La Puerta Sports Park and Larkin Park.
